January 2012 A NEW YEAR!

January, wheehh, a time to clean things up, refresh, and plan for the up coming year... resolutions????? Well, let's just say I always have a few. If it's about getting in shape, I just don't have the time. Well, I would if I didn't clean house, work, laundry, and have a business to run. So eating right is on my top list, and drinking a lot of water, which only means one thing!!! LOL!! :>) I have learned to listen more to people and to help someone in any way that I can. Giving of one self is a true gift that you can give someone. My new job has given me the opportunity to work with some wonderful people, volunteers, who give their precious time to the hospital that I work for. Just working in the gift shop has not only introduced me to them, but some of the visitors and patients who are just looking for a bright place to be. Hopefully putting a smile on their face, or just listening can make someone not feel alone in what ever they may be going through. Giving of oneself this year is my top priority.
This year is also a BIG change for my husband and I. Both of our sons will be getting married 3 months apart from each other. I just want to make this time for them special, and to be as individual as "they" both are. To keep "their" special moments unique to them. I am preparing for the first engagement party with much anticipation. Planning the invitations and menu will be second nature to me. Having the families come together under "OUR" roof (home) will be so much fun. Just like all those birthday parties celebrated for our boys throughout the years. I will keep you posted with pictures. So excited to have "girls" in my house!

Say a prayer for those that are less fortunate than ourselves, and for those that got diagnosed with an illness. May God put his hands over them all and bless them with a miracle, hope, love, grace and FAITH! Believing in HIM is the answer to all! Here's to a wonderful new year 2012!

New Catalog Open House

The new Big 2011-2012 Catalog is out!! And brimming with wonderful stamp sets, paper, new "IN" colors added to last years, and so much more!

Here is a simple card made using the new "In" color Island Indigo, and the DSP Beyond the Garden, which was featured in the Summer Mini, but is ALSO in the NEW catalog too.. I simply cut around one of the floral designs, and added our wonderful rhinestones.. scalloped punch the edge and added another strip of DSP to inside edge. I am a blue person, and this card is so clean and fresh .

For this one, I used punches only. The new Doily Triple Layer Punch, and the Lace border punch, which again came out in the Summer Mini and is Now in the New Big catalog.. You get three looks from the Triple layer punch, to play and have fun with your designs. I made this to resemble a lace table cloth, and cut around the edges. All colors are the New IN colors.

Beach time fun! Used the stamp set Summer Splash which is in the Summer Mini catalog, you can order this only through Aug. 31, and then it is retired.. I had fun brayering the sky and ocean, made and tore my sand piles, and Crystal Effects on surfboards and all.. Love how this came out...

This stamp set is also featured in the Summer Mini -Fabulous Flowerettes, but is also in the New Big Catalog. I used water color paper, heat embossed the flowers with our new colored embossing power, and water colored the flowers, sponged the background. This is such a pretty card, for all occasions..

I love this Postage stamp look, using the "Pretty Postage Stamp Set', and now there is a punch just for punching out these wonderful pieces, called Postage Stamp. I have other stamp sets that I can use this punch on, and know there will be more in the future.. These tiny little cards perfect for gift giving fit our small envelopes as well..

I used the embossing folder "Flower Garden" to create this embossed design, then I water colored it using our Aqua Painters (I love these) Eyelet border edge, and the DSP is from Beyond the Garden both in the Summer Mini and the New Big catalog.. I am so glad that they included lots of product from the Summer Mini into the new Big catalog..

Pendant Parade stamp set coupled with the punch, Petite Pendant Builder, makes this card a snap to make, I used all the NEW IN colors. and the DSP is, Just add cake. Eyelet border and the word saying is from Swirls and Curls hostess set from the Summer Mini catalog, only available till Aug. 31.

My husbands Fathers Day card, using the stamp set Countryside. I also used DSP Just Add cake. I used the 1/2" circle punch to punch out the letters that are on this DSP paper, mimicking type letter keys.. the tag is made using the onboard "Merry Medley", so many choices there to create so many different looks..

This card is using one of the New In colors Pool Party, and the DSP "Flirtatious Specialty" paper, with it's two sheets of lazer cut paper, and using the Lace border punch, stamp set Swirls and Curls. So fun...

Finally my Spring workshop!

Finally, I had my spring workshop.. wheeehhh! March & April were crazy months for me.. worked two jobs back to back and kept up with my Biscotti by Auntie B.B. business as well, and to top it all off, had the Los Banos Spring Fair, which I sit on the board of. It was all a whirlwind, left my older employer to stay on at Mercy Medical Center as their giftshop manager, which I absolutely love! Working with the volunteers has been so much fun. I am back in my element of sales, and customer service and feel so blessed!

Here is the necklace that we made using the window panes, which are still available. Everyone had their own color, which was exciting to watch how they all evolved into their own personal piece of art.

The one to the right is the back of the pendant, "Crystal Effects" sprinkled with "dazzling diamonds" glitter all from Stampin' Up!

The buffet table set up with goodies. Louise brought a delicious dessert, and of course I had one as well, as usual, lots of food.

Here is Kim, Louise & Debbie, holding up there adorable Journal books they made out of the 5x5 "On board" journals, and the letter, and the brand new flower die.

We antiqued the flower, also used the new paper flower along with the die cut flower. Glittered up the on board letter "B". Using the "Spiral Border" punch made this an easy put together project, along with the "Adhesive sheets". So easy to use, and made a perfect wrinkle free covering.

I always look forward to the girls coming over. Starting to think of ideas for the next one, will keep you all posted on what's happening!

IT'S SPRING!!!!

It's Spring!! So happy to see the bright green and flowers starting to pop. Especially the wildflowers along our highways. I actually saw my first rose in the back yard today. With all of the rain it has done it's nurturing, and now the hot sun is making things start to pop, along with all of those weeds!

Here is one of the necklaces that I made for our upcoming workshop. I made mine in baja breeze and brown. I also made another necklace for a friend in browns and rust, it came out beautiful. The journal is another item that we will be covering in the same workshop. Just gotta find a date that fits everyone's busy schedules.

I loved using the color combo of Baja breeze, chocolate chip, and crumb cake. The ribbon is in new Spring mini. I added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the inside of the flowers, and the butterfly..

I enjoy making these accordian pleated backgrounds behind the "Bliss" words. I first punched out with the eyelet trim, then simply started folding it accordian style.

Adhered it with stick strip (it works best) and did the same for the oval wording..

Valentine Workshop..Happy Valentines Day!!

I had a Valentine workshop in my home and here is how my home was decorated to greet my wonderful friends!

I had 3 tables set up for them to go to freely, I found this works better when you have a larger crowd, and they feel more relaxed to take their time and create!

The LOVE banner is one that I purchased when I had my store. I still love it! It is big bold and shiney!. Some great elements that you can re-create.

I made some small cards using the hostess set to show what they can do with it, they came out adorable. The card at the top far left was a popular one that night, they got to choose 3 cards to make. The one on the right I cased from our Stampin' Success book, and changed it up a bit.The bee card is one that someone in the group about a year ago sent us, several other punch out cards as well, I made a lamb, ladybug, and frog as well, but forgot to get pictures before I mailed out for Valentines Day. They were greatly enjoyed by my grand nephews & nieces.

The pink card on the right has a punched out heart that I glittered myself using that wonderful new glitter. And the one in the middle is using the new die-cut in the new occasions mini, I love it, you can even use all of the in-between pieces as well, NO waste on this die- cut. The MOST popular card that night was the one on the far right, with the little envelope(which is a punch) message popping out, and that wonderful RED glitter paper hearts.

I did up some flower pins, and dressed some of my mannequins topped it onto a cake plate, just love working with cake plates!

This card came out so sweet, I made several to give the girls that I work with at Bagel Tyme, where I make my Biscotti by Auntie B.B. cookies. Just reminded me of all of them, and how grateful I am of them!

This fold-out card, was another that almost everyone made. It had 4 pages inside that you could add photos to. I made this for my husband, and two sons, and put pictures in that reflected their year. They LOVED them! The candles I made as well, I got the idea from one of our Luv2 Stamp groupies, she is amazing and gave us all these wonderful instructions FREE before Christmas and the candle was one I have been wanting to try.. I made them for my group as a favor, and even the clear plastic holders (which is a discontinued die now!! Petal card), but it was the perfect thing to put the candles in.. Stamp your image on tissue paper, I punched out using the heart punch (perfect) took a piece of wax paper laid it over it, pulled it taunt from the back to hold and heat set with gun. Pulling it towards the back keeps your fingers away from the heat! Next I did the black lace in the same manner, heat setting it with the wax paper, added a rhinestone, and Viola', it is gorgeous.. they all loved them, great idea for a shower or wedding favor.

Craft Fair, Christmas

I got to do a craft fair in November at a local church in town. It was my first craft show since my boys were very young.. a good 18 years ago.. so I got my ideas together, which are always more than what I can ever do.. and this is what I went with. I use to own a gift store, which I miss, so just the excitement of building a display, and visiting with people all day brought me great pleasure!

I brought my biscotti line, "Biscotti by Auntie B.B.", which is made by me at a local bakery in town, it is a business which I have had for a while now, I produce them year round, sell to some stores, local farmers' market, and individuals, and at the bakery that I use as my commissary kitchen, "Bagel Tyme", which is a family owned and operated bakery, that make the BEST bagels! Of course they were the biggest hit!

I made some ornaments that I used from my workshop with my Stampin' Up! gals. The cone ornament, embellished with ribbon, tulle, pearls and more.

The milk carton die filled with M&M's decorated another tree. The designer series paper was a retired one, butwas so darling all hanging together. Great way to use up that paper. Such a cute favor.

I made this picture using the stamp "Christmas Collage" form the holiday mini, I hope they bring this back, I did so many things with this, I even made an ornament out of it and gave it to the owners of Bagel Tyme, they had their first grandchild this year, and punched out the 25, and put a picture of the baby. The topper is " Christmas Postcard".
All of these were in the Holiday Mini 2010.

Then I got on a roll, and brought out some retired sets, the background stamp and the rooster french set, and added it to "Artistic Etchings" which is new and came up with this. I really like the black and white combo. So French!

I made these pencil holders as well, which were really inexpensive to make.. I actually gave them to Santa to hand out to the kids on Christmas day at my brothers. Oranges included, just like Santa did for us!!!

We made four projects and on the second day made a HOUSE!!

We had so much fun.

The Victorian Christmas cone is so elegant, filled with almonds or candy.

The Gingerbread house using the build a house in the holiday mini.. this was such a treat to watch everyone create their very own unique house.. here is mine, more to post.

Breaded Chicken Breast & Risotto

Quick Dinner: 4 Chicken breast, boned
                       1 cup Italian bread crumbs
                       Salt & Pepper
                       Olive Oil
                        4-6 garlic cloves peeled whole
Wash chicken breast, salt & pepper them, coat in bread crumbs. Cook on med. low heat in olive oil, add garlic cloves whole, once brown and juices start to come to surface, turn and continue cooking. I like to cook mine with a wire spatter guard over pan, it lets the steam rise away, and the chicken comes out crunchy and delicious.
                      Risotto
                      1 cup of arborio rice
                      1/4 cup chopped onion
                      1 clove of garlic minced
                      2 -2 1/2 cups of chicken broth
                      4Tblsp olive oil
                      2 Tblsp butter
Brown garlic and onion, add rice to slightly brown also. add chicken broth and 2 Tblsp. of butter. Bring to a boil. Lower heat to the lowest it will go,cover, let simmer for 30-40 min. Check to see if you need to add a little more chicken broth, and stir, cover and let contiur to cook till rice is done, should be creamey....
Enjoy, add a sald, and it's dinner time.. Manja!!!

Simply Adorned Jewelry

This is a Simply Adorned necklace that I made myself, finally! I really wanted to dress up the chain a bit, so sewed on Buttons, and tied on some ribbon. Here are my guests for the Summer Mini Catalog 4th of July & Last Chance celebration. We had a great time, it is so much fun to see everyone put their own spin on their artwork. I especially enjoyed the girls, we learned lots from them.

We started out talking about "Last Chance " Stamp sets and the sale items. I showed them some of the "New" colors by making 4 samples using the cardstock that was sent to me. I used a retiring set #111490 "Bloomin' Beautiful" I got this set because of the adorable bee and the potted hydrangea plant. The other stamp used is from the New Summer Mini All A Flutter butterfly it is only $ 6.95.

This is the 4th of July card # 120063"July "Fourth", also used the large wheel # 118622 "Red, White, Blue". I loved how this card came out.. Night of Navy, and Crumb Cake cardstock. I also showed them some of the retiring stamp sets and Sissix die cuts and ribbon, which some took advantage of ordering before June 30th.

The card on the left above is made with the Two-Step set #111578 " Flower Fancy and the background flower from #111490" Bloomin' Beautiful". Retired Green galore paper and razzleberry ribbon, "Irridescent Ice" glitter. This was a lot of fun to see the variations that they made. And they got so excited about the glitter! The Bird lattice card to the right is done with the retired set # 113074 "Spring Song" the lattice die for the "Big Shot" cuts out perfectly. This was a really easy card that has a lot of elegance to it..

I made some apricto jam and decorated it using the adorable alphabet set #115030 "Lovely Alphabet"

paper doily, tangerine orange paper circle and ribbon to tie all together. I went to a baby shower this past month, I used the Large Wheel # 118621 "Baby Tees" from the Summer Mini Catalog, I colored it in with markers and wheeled in Razzleberry ink, used the "Lovely Alphabet" to spell BABY, I rolled the T'Shirt again on a strip of paper to wrap around a set of onsies that were inside a tulle bag that I had made, tied off with ribbon.. The card was made using retired DSP paper and the stampset # 113500 Fun & Fast Notes", scallop punch, ribbon to complete the gift. I love this set "Fun & Fast Notes" it has all occasions from baby, wedding, get well , thanks, birthday, and thanks. A great set to add to your collection and is still available in the new catalog.

We all had a great time, here is my presentation.We did three cards, Fathers Day, Happy Birthday, Vintage. All got a special "Thank-You Treat" favor. We had a drawing for prizes, dessert & snacks.

I always enjoy every ones company so much, thanks to all who attended!

Here is the Father's Day card, stamp set "King of the Grill" # 120066. We used the new "Silver Foil Smooch Spray" #118771to give it a smokey dirty look. The "color catcher" spray box # 121093 worked really good to keep things from getting sprayed on, well I guess if you pointed the hole in the right direction! ha.. took a while to master, but all loved the results. For the roof in red we used the "Crimper" #101618.

The Happy Birthday card is using the "Builder Wheels" that are featured in the "Summer Mini" , "So many stars" # 118620, "Happy Birthday" # 118619, "Candle Crazy" # 118618, the handle to hold them all together"Jumbo Handle" # 103661, "Wheel spindle and Spacers" # 119895, I also used the "Uninked triple Cell Cartridge" # 121206, which you can ink up with ink refills of your choice for any color combo. Very simple & bright!

Last but by all means NOT least....Vintage card. "Elements of Style" #120045 clear mount. Used "Smooch Spray" #118772 in Vanilla Shimmer. So pretty, also used the crimper for the background banner and the "Eyelet border punch" # 113692. Everyone kind of did their own take, some used the other colors of "Smooth spray" . Which is what it is all about, creating and making it yours!

Graduation day: Fresno State University
My baby Marcello has graduated. Profession, "Strength & Conditioning Coach", he is off to intern with the San Jose Shark team, and to live with some of my cousins. Exciting times. We want to thank all for who share in their lives to make them what they have become, godparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, & friends. Thank-You!

My oldest Giancarlo also completed his teaching credential and now is looking for a "Physical Education/ teaching/ coaching" job. Any takers out there? Go team - go!!! It looks like we will continue cheering for a team, with their careers! Very proud!

Here is another grad card I made for a friend graduating form UC Merced. Let's just pray that things get better out there for all these graduates and that they are able to find jobs. Proud of their hard work and dedication.

I just received my "NEW" 2010-2011 catalog that will be debuting on July 1. I am so excited, it is a beautiful catalog, with lots of new things, and very organized, with helpful hints, and getting started packs using the "New" color combos. The new colors are richer, deeper, and some of the old "In" colors are back. So check out my site from time to time. Here are some things from my last Saturday's workshop. Plus I made the treat bags for work also for the workshop, Fancy Favor # 115965, Vintage labels # 118392 in the SALE.A.BRATION catalog, scallop circle punch #109043, stampset # 118592Tiny Tags, the heart stamped 4 times to create the shamrock, and a shiny brass brad for

center.. And delicious cupcakes!

For the spring workshop we also decorated eggs using #117179 Eggcellent Eggs Kit, which has rhinestones, egg stands, flowers, swirls, & dots already punched out for you, we blew out real eggs, painted them with classic ink, put ribbon tassles on top & at the bottom.

Here is the card we made out of the new mini # 118598 Vintage Vogue stampset, and the new DSP # 117160 Shades of Spring, along with the scallop punch # 112091, and Certainly Celery, and Lavender Lace card stock, also, Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon to make the leaves. Everyone did their own take off of this, some even added Dazzlin' Diamonds glitter #102023. The Build A Brad # 109108 always adds such a custom touch and so much fun to make..

Baby Shower

We had a baby shower for one of the young men that I work for. I created this Baby Shower cake as the center piece. The center of each cake is disposable diapers, then I used receiving blankets to cover them, added hair clips, and headbands, socks tied with ribbon (Stampin' Up! ribbon) baby bath, powder, tights, and rattle on top. I even put it onto a cake board.

I wish him and his wife great new Beginnings with their new arrival.

I used Whisper white card stock, Glorious Green, Certainly celery ribbon, Designer series paper in certainly celery, and a Circle Fire Rhinestone brad. The shamrock is made using the heart punch. Very easy to make.

Spring Workshop-March 13. We made spring cards, this one used product out of the new Occasions mini catalog by Stampin' Up!. Designer series paper #117160-Shades of spring. Just beautiful. Cardstock is Certainly celery # 105125 and Almost amethyst. The Stamp set is #118598 Vintage Vogue in the clear block base. They loved working with the clear blocks. Certainly celery grosgrain ribbon # 109031, #116630 Modern label punch, #109128 Build A Brad in pewter. I love working with the build a brads, they add such a nice touch. The scallop punch#112091. Ink colors, So Saffron 105213, Lovely lilac # 102874, Orchid Oppulence #101859 and Versa Mark inside the card #102283. I put lots of other colors out on the table, and they actually created their own look, some even added Dazzling Diamonds #102023. This card was easy to make, the designer series paper has so many color combinations, Barley Banana, Certainly celery, Orchid Opulence.

The eggs were so much fun... using the Eggcellent Eggs Kit #117179. They brought a REAL blown out egg, we painted with our Aqua Painter # 103954, any color of their choice, all Classic Ink, then we decorated with the kit supplies, so much comes in the kit. The Chocolate bunny card is using the stamp #116980, stamped on close to cocoa paper with Craft ink chocolate chip #101816, and embossed with clear powder #109130. This really gave a textured look . Abundant Hope # 118547 using the daffodil and the "Easter Blessing" from this stamp set. Ribbon #117289 Pretty in Pink is gorgeous. Also used the NEW Scallop trim punch # 118402, in the Sale-A-Bration book, which you can get free for spending $ 50.00 in any catalog.. As usual it is so much fun to see everyone creating their own take on a project all using the same supplies.. it's amazing how they can all be different.. I learn so much from them. My friend Chris brought her daughter n' law and her granddaughter.. who was so much fun.. she really did a beautiful job, she won a prize which was a free workshop, and got so excited. I will be looking forward to working with them all again. Thanks Debbie for keeping us laughing and for all that came. What a great way to spend a couple of hours.

Quilt Challenge

This is a challenge through my quilt guild I belong to. We all brought 12 fat eights in red. then we exchanged them and had to come up with a project. I chose this table runner that I had gotten off of the "All people Quilt" website. It was a challenge for me, I had never done anything with a curved set in circle.. I liked how the pinks and reds blended, and I chose the blue print fabric from my stash, yep, I didn't go out and purchase a thing... Yeah! Each circle has a cordoroy button from Stampin' Up!.

Happy New Year everyone... Hope all had a great Christmas and New Year.. Christmas was spent with family, and unfortunately my mom going into the hospital Christmas Eve, she is recovering and should be home soon... I tell you, the best part of having little ones around the holidays, is just their sheer excitement of opening up their presents.. it's not really what they are getting, but just ripping into that paper.. and the looks on their faces.. We are so blessed to have grandnephews and nieces in our family, they have brought such joy back into our lives.. We are a blessed family.. My boys got to come home, for a short time.. just soaked them up while they were here. I have some new pictures of some things that I made as gifts during the holiday season, I will be posting the pictures soon.. And I can hardly wait to get out some of my new stuff from Stampin' UP! that is from the new MINI catalog, and the great Sale-A-Bration catalog.. so check out my website for new updates.. Here we are with our Christmas Tree pop-up cards that we made at my Christmas Party. It was the only project we made that night since it required a little extra work, but they all came out beautiful. We got to relax, eat, and visit. This was a thank-you to my customers for supporting me during my time with Stampin' Up! Loved how this Christmas card came out.. used the "Sweet Centers" # 116521 stamp set from Stampin' Up!. basful blue brilliant blue card stock, 1 3/4 circle punch #112004, The Big Shot #113439, and lil leaves die cut #114511 all from Stampin' Up! I put some "snow into the sweet treat cup #116802. This stamp set is so easy to use for all holidays. You can fill with candy, crackers, $$$$, what a great gift giving idea..

I loved making this over stamped Thank-You card. Got the card cut-out idea from Cindee Wilkerson in my Luv2 Stamp group. Used the stamp set "Charming" # 116519. Designer series paper "Thoroughly Modern" # 115673. The Big Shot, "Top Note Die" #113463, and the "Scallop oval punch" #114889. I enjoyed doing the distressing and over stamping.. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you ! We are truly blessed in so many ways, our families, friends and lives. Yes this has been hard times for many, including some in my own family, we have learned to tighten the belt while trying to find jobs, but at the same time keeping busy, creative, and trying to help others around us that need extra help. May we keep our thoughts and prayers on others who are less fortunate that don't have food on their tables, or a roof over their head. And especially to our service men over seas fighting for our freedom that we have here in this beautiful country of ours. May God bless all of you during this very thankful holiday, and may you help someone less fortunate.

We made this in other variations of card stock. So much fun

This one was left unpainted, but in class we used "Stampin' Pastels" #105542. The one on the far left is done with the "Aqua Painters"#103954 with classic inks of choice. Beautiful in their own way, lots of different looks for the stamp set.

We made these tags, that can also be used as bookmarkers... easy and fast, great for gift giving to tie onto homemade, cookies and breads, or a beautiful gift basket.

The HO HO HO set make 1 large swag, and 3 small ones, I made 1 large, 1 small, wreath, and 2 wallhangings... what a great gift idea, these normally retail close to $ 30.00, so it's a great deal. A handmade gift made from the heart! They purchased these ahead of time and we were so glad that we got together as a group to put together, everyones turned out different with the different embellishments, ribbon and such to make it match their decor. That's what one of the best things is, watching others create, I learn from them as well.. Sharing..

Cousin Night Out!

Here we are out to dinner, my sister, niece and cousins, I am the one on the far right. We are sporting out Breast Cancer awareness pins that I made. We had a great time reminising about our childhood. We are double cousins, YES, our mothers were sisters or cousins of each other, and our fathers were brothers. Those Italian men liked those Portuguese women..We have great stories to share, growing up in the country, and being blessed to be a part of a wonderful family that visited every weekend.. those were the good ol' days!
Homemade cookies, or cakes, and good old Kool-Aide ! Holding on to the memories!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This month is breast cancer awareness month. I made some really cute butterfly pins and gave them to my Stampin' Up Stamp a Rama-Luv 2 Stamp group that Patty Bennet had hosted last month for us. I have been making more throughout the month and giving them to friends & family to spread the word of early detection and breast health. http://www.bridgetmartinelli.stampinup.net
I used the Big Shot by Sissix, Stampin'Up!, die cutting machine, and the Bigz Die, #114507 Beautiful Butterflies, various DSP paper in pink, and stamped the ribbon of hope stamp#115552 in Pink passion ink, added a rhinestone brad, 1/4 ribbon tied in 2 knots for center of butterfly, and added a pin to back. So simple to make. I made large & small ones. Great to hand out at events or different organizations. Could even be a great fundraiser for a cancer group of your choice. Baby shower

The last couple of days I have been preparing for a baby shower.
I found out that Stephanie is having a girl, so being the frugal quilter that I am I went through my fabric stash. I was so excited to find some hot pink minkie fabric, and a bright flowery print, just big enough to make a small quilt. I even had enough batting.. Gosh.. I didn't have to buy a thing! I whipped it together and quilted around the flowers somewhat, not perfect, but after I washed it, I just loved how it got all bunchy and soft.
So of course I had to make a card, and Stephanie loves butterflies, so I got out my "Big Shot" from Sissix, (Stampin' Up!), and used the "bigz dies" #114507, Beautiful Butterflies, whisper white card stock, regal rose ink, and Fundamental Phrases #114968 " new baby'', older DSP paper, and the baby carraige from "Fun & Fast Notes" #113509, the eyelet punch, oval punch, rhinestone brad, and pink ribbon that is on sale right now with Stampin' Up!
The shower was fun, and she liked all that she received. A baby is such a gift, God bless them with their new life ahead.

I am a breast cancer survivor of 20 years.. I can't stress enough how important it is to make others aware of this. So for the month of October,wear pink once a week, and tell others why you are wearing pink. Remind them of their monthly self-breast exams, and of their yearly mamograms. Yes I was one of those that was diagnosed at a young age, 33. My boys were babies. But I was determined to be HERE for them to watch them grow, and yes someday play with my grandchildren. I am blessed and so fortunate to have these years, no I am NOT a grandmother YET, but am looking forward to those days in the future. So talk to your friends and co-workers, have a gathering at your home to raise money for a cancer cause of your choice. You may save a life, what a precious gift to give someone ! I have been making butterflies out of my Stampin' Up! Big Shot by Sissix. I have turned the butterflies into pins with a breast cancer ribbon stamped using the "Ribbon of Hope" #115552. Saturdays.... my errand day.. got my supplies ready for the Biscotti that will be made on Monday. Early this morning, I processed a whole sink full of fresh tomatoes, and started a spaghetti sauce.. cooking all day, it smells soooooo good. Then I made a stuffing for my Italian sweet peppers, and stuffed them. Packed them in the freezer. Ready to give the boys when needed. I feel like a little squirrel when I cook BIG like this, freezing and packing away for the winter ahead. So nice to have ready to go on those nights when you just don't know what to cook. My garden is looking like I might get a few more peppers out of it with the cooler weather that we have had. All that I get is greatly appreciated. So have a great weekend.

Hello, the one creative thing that I did today, was to finish a wallet that I am giving as a birthday gift to a niece. It's cloth, and quilted.. it is the second one that I made.. I really like them.. I will try to post a picture of it.. I am thinking of getting back into my sewing business, along with my Biscotti by Auntie B.B. business, and yes my Stampin' Up! Demonstratorship.. There isn't much difference with working with paper vs. cloth.. it's all about color and texture.. Some of us put colors together in such a different way than others. But it's okay, it's all about being creative to please ones own style, or artistry. There shouldn't be a right way or even a wrong way when it comes to color combinations. It's all in the eye of the beholder.. We all see things differently. If we didn't, our world would be so boring!!! So step out of your box, and try layering lots of color, and yes even texture. The color could all be in neutrals, or hot bright colors, to earthy warm shades.

Stampin' Up! Workshop

Had another successful Stampin' Up! workshop in my home last night.. The Bagel Tyme girls and mom, Janice came, and we had a great time.. Kristin's boyfriend even attended.. my first guy at a workshop.. and he did a great job.. We made four projects, a halloween treat bag, two halloween cards, one used rub-ons and designer series paper, yes, no ink or stamps.. the other was a fall card using our Autumn Days stamp set, I love this set, the pheasant stamp is so cool. It brings back lots of memories of opening day at the farm that I grew up on. Foggy mornings, and guns going off..
I will get some pictures downloaded, so I can share with all..

Quilt show success

Yes what a beautiful quilt show the Gateway quilters had this weekend.
We have some really talented quilters in our guild..
Great company, food, vendors with GUESS WHAT?? More fabric...
and beautiful quilts surrounding all..
Yes it was a lot of work.. but well worth all of our efforts.
Tomorrow I am off to bake biscotti for my business, Biscotti by Auntie B.B.
Flavors tomorrow will be, Anise seed walnut, Almond-Chocolate coated,
and Cranberry orange.. yummy.. Then off to deliver them.
And hopefully I will get to stamp some cards tomorrow and get back to having
a Halloween/ Thanksgiving workshop sometime this week. yeah..lots of fun.

I finally have a blog... Now to add all the things that I want to show you...
Be patient.. this might take a while.
I am a quilter and sewer. And yes I have lots of fabric...it's all about color and texture.. I love the color blue, but have stepped out of my box working with lots of beautiful color. I belong to two quilt guilds, one in Merced, CA ,, and the other in Los Banos, CA .
I just finished with one quilt show in Los Banos, and there is another in Merced this weekend. We have been working very hard preparing for this today.. And everything looks awesome... I will try to post pictures later..
