Today is Tuesday, back to work I go.
Had a wonderful day at work.  I work at our local hospital Gift shop as the manager.  Best part of my day are the volunteers.
Keeping the schedule filled with the different shifts can be a bit tricky at times especially when I get a last minute call that they can't come in, just like this afternoon.  I was asked to "please find me a sub", so I started calling off our sub list. One of my Saturday girls came to my rescue.. thanks to Jessica and Rosa we were able to be open this evening.

Came home to start dinner only to find the neighbor boy in my driveway along with several new faces.  New kids from down the block that were really good at playing basketball.  Brought back memories of my two boys when they were that age.
Listening to the laughing, hitting the rim of the hoop,
and shoes scuffling on the cement.
I reminded them that my rules are, you ask before you play, and you don't hit my house or garge door, and what ever they brought over they had to take home.
Sitting in my back yard after dinner enjoying a glass of red wine and this beautiful weather we are having this evening. I love these blue flowers that re-seed themselves and put on a show for me thru fall. I don't know what they are called, had planted from seed many years ago. Cornflower blue, I love the color blue. If you know what they are, leave a comment to let me know, thanks!

Here is my big purchase I made in Petaluma on sunday at the seed store.  Can't wait till I get them in the dirt!
Look how big the tomatoes have gotten in two weeks. I hit them with some water today, conserving as much as they can handle and be within our watering limits here in California.

This adorable windchime was given to me back when I had my store in Los Banos.  My brother raised sheep while growing up and I showed sheep at the fair. I still think they are too cute, and so are the goats... wish I could have one in my backyard but I don't know what my two dogs would think of that or my neighbors!
I don't live in the country anymore, but you can't take the country out of me!

During the remodel I threw things in pots and containers, because I couldn't plant a garden or flower beds.  This container was one of them that I threw some Italian sweet peppers into.  Amazing that they sprouted new leaves, and today I noticed an actual pepper on it!  I will have to transplant these 3 plants into my garden.

I have  been blessed with another beautiful day and thank God for that!
Thanks for reading my blog, now onto starting another quilt,
into my sewing room I go!

Wedding in Sonoma

This weekend we were invited to a very good friends' daughters wedding.. more like family!

The setting was in Sonoma, California

The weather was perfect

We stayed in Petaluma at the Sheraton, had a great stay, comfy beds, great service.

On Sunday, the day of the wedding my niece and fiance'(not the bride and groom for today) met us at our hotel and picked us up to take us into old Petaluma..  an adorable town filled with places to eat, beautiful old buildings, consignment shops, antique malls, and so much more wish I had more time to explore. There is a river that runs thru the town making it a great place to take a walk. My favorite store was the "seed" store, that occupied an old bank building.. loved it, high ceilings and old floor, long narrow windows.. The store specialized in heirloom seeds, books, ect,... I am sure I missed half of it, but grabbed the mail order catalog.  I explained to my niece that this will be my best purchase for the day,  5 packets of seeds, because I enjoy planting seeds, and watching them grow, and hopefully will produce some vegetables, or flowers that my husband and I can enjoy. You have to check out Petaluma California, a bustling town with much to offer.

Got ready for the wedding
Finally decided on the solid brown dress and animal print jacket.
I had brought two dress options not knowing what the weather would bring.

This is what we saw when we arrived.
A beautiful winery, Viansa Winery on a hill top.

The wetlands were below

Hall ready for guests and bride and groom

Beautiful scenery

Wishing the happy couple  a lifetime of happiness, good luck,
prosperity, blessed with good health and more!

The food was wonderful, wine, and the cake. They served pizza around 9:30 from their brick ovens, delicous!

Cheers!!
A great weekend spent with my hubby.
When arriving home, we found our two dogs very happy to see us.
I BBQ lamb patties, made rice and carrots, and enjoying a relaxing evening before heading to work tomorrow.

Hope you all had a great Memorial weekend as well.

We had a great Mothers day again today. My other son and wife, an aunt, cousins and friend and my mom. I cooked ribs with the help of Mel tri trip roasted  wedge potatoes and BBQ zucchini,  salad and strawberry short cake.. Yummy.. So nice . started with mimosas, chips and guacamole, lemon drop martini and wine with dinner. We were ready for coffee when dessert was served.  Feeling very blessed!

Being a mom is a wonderful thing. Watching my children grow up become men and then married men, husbands and good ones at that! They have become dads too, good ones, patient and active with their children. So if you are a young mom with little ones I Know how hard it is to juggle work household chores, sporting events along with all those practices . So exhausting at times but when they ask you to read a story before bed time, you just sink down to the floor, relax, begin to read and tell yourself YES this is where I belong right at this moment it just all seems right! Life races by and before you know it, they are gone, off to college, no more quiet times with them. Enjoy them, hold them and love them!

To keep myself busy with them no longer in our home, we have two dogs, I do a lot of sewing,  cooking, which I love and my hands at gardening. Life is good,  you just need to take a look around, smell the roses and see the beauty that God has given you, all gifts, precious ones, everyday a blessing!

Happy Mothers' day to you all

Happy mothers day!

Hope you all had a wonderful mothers day!  Yesterday we celebrated with my sister brothers one son and wife and my mom. It was a beautiful day eating outside. My sister and her daughter did a great job on the yummy meal! Glad I got to see my nice that lives farther away now.
